Threat and Security monitoring solution for Cloud
Business Requirements:
USA-based MSP has contracted Nuage to develop a solution to address the common challenges seen across various cloud-adopting organizations. Most of the challenges revolve around providing a single consolidate dashboard of various operational, security, and compliance-related parameters.
Key items in this context refer to the items which form the maximum part of the bill, such as computing instances, database instances, storage, serverless functions, etc.
Nuage Solution:
Using the sprint-based model, Nuage developed the product by gradually integrating it with several cloud services. Currently, the product is in active development and provides various operational parameters such as cloud spend, allocated elastic storage, Lambda functions, and AMIs Older than 30 days. Additionally, there are security-related parameters like environment misconfiguration, alerts, and vulnerabilities for multiple products.
Apart from the dashboard, a daily report containing information about each of the mentioned data points is sent to users of the product. The platform is designed as a SaaS service, enabling the monitoring of all these data points to be consolidated at the level of the service provider.
The product is designed to be easily integrated with other systems for vulnerability management and offers export options for FedRAMP compliance. It provides consolidated views of security findings, allows for single sign-on with SAML, and tracks changes in AWS resources. The product follows the least-privilege security principle and offers an analysis of cloud spending and efficiency.
We developed additional frameworks to streamline the product’s feature enhancements and the development process. These frameworks consist of a Data Ingestion framework responsible for data ingestion, an Auditing framework that performs audits on the ingested data, and a Widgets framework that manages UI elements, among others.
