Overview
The Covid pandemic has forced businesses into rethinking their business operating model. This case study covers one such business – MovTek. MovTek is a logistics company with an internet and App only model for booking, billing and tracking of Freight.
The Web Application and mobile App allows for Freight booking & tracking, Warehousing and Customs Clearance. It allows the user to get the cost of shipment between any two locations around a given date based on the type of transportation. The idea is to bring transparency into the logistics arena and provide a level of self service to the customer that helps them manage their logistics with minimum hassle. The tracking of a shipment allows the user to be always aware of location of the shipment and helps them manage the business expectations internally within the organization and with their customers.
Client
The client has been in the logistics business for over 20 years. They specialize in ship and air based freight. They also have warehouses near a number of ports in India.
Business Goal
Based on their experience and the changes that they saw in the industry during the pandemic, they came up with the idea of an online only platform for logistics management. This would help their clients get competitive rates and track shipment as it goes through the various stages of transportation and clearance. The goal is to being transparency in for the customer and to provide them the best rates and service.
Our Solution
To achieve client’s goal, we proposed the below solution.

Web Application
The Web Application allows to set freight charges between any two locations around a given date based on the type of transportation. MovTek User can set the configurable data. It allows to create different the component charges based on port, country, common.
It allows users for Freight booking & tracking, Warehousing and Customs Clearance.
Mobile App
The Mobile App gives the solution for customers to get the freight rates for given locations on selected date range for sea and air. The customers can get the rate, including the break-up, after given the details. The tracking of a shipment allows the user to be always aware of location of the shipment.
Our Challenges
The team faced many challenges like-
- To find the ports data.
- Weight and volume calculation method was another challenge. For sea freight and air freight there are different calculation method.
- Tracking, scheduling and distance API understanding and integration was another bigger challenge.
- Stripe payment gateway integration was also a challenge.
Finally, the expert technical team at Nuage accept these challenges and deliver the solution.
