Student tracking platform
Business Requirement
Our client provides customers with the best, electronically advanced, smart, and innovative gadgets. Allowing people to monitor their objects and vehicles, connect and keep a track of their loved ones and make their life convenient by using their smartphones to control or operate devices, equipment, and gadgets at home and office.
The requirement was to develop the STS platform that would help teachers, parents, and school admins to track the activity and mark the attendance of the students. This was to be done through a combination of hardware (BLE and NFC-based cards/card readers and controller) and software.
Solution
The solution developed by us involved creating a Web-based portal and Mobile applications.
The mobile application was used by school teachers to:
- View the attendance
- Check students in and out times
- View class-wise student status
- Send bunk notifications to parents
The mobile app also allows parents to track their child’s movements from the time they board the school bus to when they enter and leave the school, as well as when they disembark from the bus.
To enable tracking of students and improve safety measures, beacons were strategically positioned at the entrance/exit points of the school gate, classrooms, buses, playground areas, and community halls. The beacons scan the ID cards of students and send notifications to the school administration via the web portal. The school administrators were granted access to the web portal, which provides them with the ability to track the location of students and send alerts if they enter a potentially dangerous zone.
